Submitting a maple program files

For normal (non threaded) maple programs simply issue with the submission script, mapleSP.sh:

#!/bin/bash
#SBATCH -i my_program_file
#SBATCH -o my_output_file

maple

Then, submit it via sbatch:

$ sbatch mapleSP.sh

Note, if your program uses [multiple threads ], you need to reserve extra cores up to a maximum of 12. Say your program uses 12 threads. The submission script, mapleMP.sh:

#!/bin/bash
#SBATCH -i my_program_file
#SBATCH -o my_output_file
#SBATCH -c 12 # You can assign different number of cores, but the maximum number of cores will be 12 cores.
#SBATCH --exclusive # use exculsive mode

maple

Then, submit it via sbatch:

$ sbatch mapleMP.sh

Interactive MAPLE use with SLURM (not recomended)

NOTE: *any* interruption to the network will cause your job to crash irrecoverably.

To run an interactive MAPLE session, you will want to do the following:

[NetID@cn01 ~]$ module load maple/2020.0
[NetID@cn01 ~]$ fisbatch -c12 -p general --exclusive
FISBATCH -- the maximum time for the interactive screen is limited to 6 hours. You can add QoS to overwrite it.
FISBATCH -- waiting for JOBID 20248 to start on cluster=cluster and partition=general
!
FISBATCH -- Connecting to head node (cn342)
[xxx00000@cn342 ~]$ maple
... # here will be the interactive commands with maple
[xxx00000@cn342 ~]$ exit
[screen is terminating]
Connection to cn342 closed.
FISBATCH -- exiting job

NOTE: please DO NOT FORGET to EXIT from the nodes so that the other users can use it.

[NetID@cn342 ~]$ maple

NOTE: *any* interruption to the network will cause your job to crash irrecoverably.

To run an interactive MAPLE session with GUI, you should "ssh -X" to the cluster from a Linux machine or iOS matchine with X11 enabled. Or please follow the X Apps. Then, run the above commands.
